Checklist to launch your WhatsApp chatbot | iabot
Checklist: launch your first no-code chatbot
Before you launch a chatbot, use this checklist so nothing critical is missing. With iabot you can have your own AI running in minutes—trained on your content and ready for web, WhatsApp, Telegram, or iaTalk.
When you finish you should have: an account at app.iabot.io/register, a configured channel, an active IALanding, and a clear plan for which paid channels to connect later.
Pricing to keep straight: web and iaTalk have no plan fee; WhatsApp Pro / Telegram Pro cost €29.99/month when connected; iALove uses prepaid credits that do not expire.
Pre-launch: basic configuration
Clarify the goal
Tick when you know what the AI is for:
- Customer support FAQs
- Education (syllabus, schedules, materials)
- Sales (products, pricing, qualified leads)
- Community (tips, recipes, exercises)
Write one sentence: “My AI will help with _______________.” If unsure, start with “answer FAQs about my services.”
Prepare knowledge content
Gather:
- PDFs (rates, catalogues, protocols, FAQs)
- URLs (services, blog, purchase terms)
- Videos (YouTube, explainers)
- Images (product sheets, infographics)
One PDF + one URL + a few FAQs is enough to start.
Technical setup
- iabot account created (sign up)
- First AI channel created with a clear name
- No card required yet for web / iaTalk
AI training
- Business description clear and specific
- Services/products defined
- Tone of voice set
- At least one PDF or important URL uploaded
- 2–3 key FAQs defined
Behaviour
- Welcome message explains who the AI is and what it can/cannot do
- Limits set (when to hand over to a human; no medical/legal advice if inappropriate)
- Human handover path understood
Advanced configuration
IALanding
- IALanding reviewed (logo, name, description)
- Content library shows PDFs, images, videos, key links
- Chat visible and usable
- Colours/logo customised as needed
IALanding has no plan fee and is the fastest way to put the AI “in production” before Pro channels. Full guide: IALanding conversational web.
Web widget
If you have a site:
- Embed / widget code copied
- Pasted into WordPress, Elementor, Divi, Webflow, etc.
- Chat opens on the live page
- Microphone tested if you expect mobile voice use
Multiformat and bookings (if relevant)
- Gallery organised; images reasonably sized
- Informational PDFs uploaded
- Multiformat replies configured if needed
- Bookings: hours, confirmations, reminders, cancellation policy (if you use them)
Exhaustive testing
Basic tests
- Message from another device or number (or IALanding as an external visitor)
- Typical price / process / booking questions
- Correct contact and hours information
- Tone matches your settings
- Mobile layout of IALanding and widget
Advanced tests
- Hard or mixed questions (two topics in one message, exceptions)
- Human handover (take / return control)
- Multiformat send (if configured)
- Booking flow (if applicable)
- Microphone notes on mobile
- “I want to talk to a person” path
Stress tests
- Several conversations in a short window
- Messages with special characters or long text
- Different file types if you send documents
- Questions outside business hours (the AI should still answer within policy)
Stress mindset
- At least 10 real-world questions tested
- Failures fixed (docs, FAQ, behaviour) and retested
- Team signed off before public launch
Channels: web, iaTalk, WhatsApp, Telegram
Decide where people will talk to the AI:
- IALanding + widget — no plan fee
- iaTalk — discovery at iatalk.iabot.io/social, no plan fee
- Telegram — communities (Telegram Pro: €29.99/month)
- WhatsApp Business — where customers already message (WhatsApp Pro: €29.99/month)
Recommendation: validate on web first; connect the channel where your audience already is. Guides: WhatsApp, Telegram, WhatsApp channel.
Do not enable every channel on day one.
SEO, visibility, and launch
IALanding visibility
- Clear title and short description for sharing
- Friendly public link
- Keywords that match how customers search (natural, not stuffed)
- Widget placed where visitors need help (services, pricing, contact)
Tracking (optional but useful)
- Define what “conversion” means for you (lead, booking, purchase intent)
- Use UTM parameters on shared links when you run campaigns
- Team knows how to find conversations in the panel
Launch day
- Final end-to-end test completed
- Soft launch to a small audience or staff
- Monitor first conversations live
- Note gaps in knowledge immediately
- Announce on social / email only after soft launch looks solid
First-week promotion
- Share IALanding on social / email
- Optionally publish on iaTalk
- Point high-traffic pages to the widget
- Add the link to email signatures or profiles if it fits your brand
Post-launch (first week and ongoing)
Monitoring
- Review conversations daily at first
- Track unanswered or wrong answers
- Watch handover frequency
Weekly
- Add FAQs from real chats
- Update PDFs/URLs when prices or policies change
- Adjust tone or limits if needed
Monthly
- Review which channels convert
- Decide whether to add WhatsApp Pro or Telegram Pro
- Clean unused content; strengthen high-traffic topics
Common mistakes to avoid
Configuration: unclear goal; no human handover; launching without tests; wrong contact details; tone that does not match the brand.
Content: too little material; outdated prices; answers that are too long or vague; unclear CTAs; “magic” expectations without documents.
Pricing myths: claiming WhatsApp is always free—Pro channels are €29.99/month when connected. Web and iaTalk remain without a plan fee.
Technical: broken embed; oversized files; untested mic; personal WhatsApp number used without understanding that every message goes through the bot; no habit of reviewing conversations after launch.
KPIs to track
Engagement: conversations started, messages per conversation, average time to useful answer, mic vs text share.
Conversion: share of chats that become leads or bookings, CTA clicks from IALanding, resource downloads if you send PDFs.
Satisfaction: positive vs negative feedback, conversations that need human intervention, abandonment mid-chat, repeat questions the AI still fails.
Use the first week to set a baseline. Optimise from real data, not from assumptions.
FAQ
Can I launch with web only?
Yes—and that is the recommended path. IALanding and the widget have no plan fee. Connect WhatsApp or Telegram when behaviour looks right.
How many test questions before going public?
At least ten real ones from your business, including price, hours, exceptions, and “I want a human.”
Do I need a card to finish this checklist?
Not for web and iaTalk. A card matters when you enable WhatsApp Pro or Telegram Pro (€29.99/month) or buy iALove credits.
